A PIL has been filed with the Delhi Supreme Court asking for an instruction to the center to remove the voice of megastar Amitabh Bachchan from the caller melody in order to take precautionary measures against the coronavirus as he is with some family members had been infected with the virus.
The plea that there were some famous Corona warriors willing to offer their services free of charge was submitted for a hearing in front of a bench by Chief Justice DN Patel and Judge Jyoti Singh on Thursday.
The bank listed it for January 18 when the petitioner’s attorney expressed the inability to appear for the physical hearing.
The petition from Delhi-based social worker Rakesh said the government had mandated Bachchan to alert socialmediagossips to preventive measures to fight the COVID-19 pandemic while the superstar himself and other members of his family could not escape it.
“The Indian government has paid Amitabh Bachchan fees for chanting preventive measures on the caller’s ringtone,” said the plea submitted by attorneys AK Dubey and Pawan Kumar.
“There are some Corona warriors who have done great service to the nation in these times, helping poor and needy socialmediagossips, providing them with food, clothing and shelter. It is very important to mention that some Corona warriors have distributed their hardship incomes among the poor, ”the plea reads.
It added that some famous Corona warriors are still ready to do their services without pay and serve the nation.
“Amitabh Bachchan does not have a clean history and he does not serve the nation as a social worker,” the plea alleged, while referring to several matters pending against him in various courts.
