Actor Aditi Rao Hydari calls her character Nusrat in The Girl on the Train “the perfect sunshine girl”. According to Aditi, although Nusrat was adapted by Megan in the Hollywood original, it has a lot more to offer in the Netflix movie.
The Girl on the Train is the Hindi remake of the original 2016 film based on Paula Hawkins bestseller of the same name. The psychological thriller starring Emily Blunt stars, while Haley Bennett played Megan. The Bollywood version with Parineeti Chopra was directed by Ribhu Dasgupta.
We know that Megan was a mysterious, emotionally troubled girl who is murdered in the original. How different is Nusrat from her? “Ribhu rewrote this character a lot. He brought a lot more of her backstory with him. I liked the way he put these two very opposing characters side by side, with Mira (Parineeti Chopra) being the one going through this turbulence and the girl on the balcony, Nusrat, being that perfect sunshine girl. It is as if she lives vicariously through them. Megan in the original film is a mysterious girl on the balcony. But Nusrat is very carnal and bloody, “Aditi told socialmediagossips.com in an exclusive chat.
Aditi went on to share that Nusrat’s dance, a new addition to the character, made her special. “What I really liked about Nusrat at the script level is that whatever she goes through – happiness, sadness, whatever it is, comes out through her dance. Ribhu made her a dancer. You won’t see much of this in the movie. But I thought it was great that it was a very important element. I know music and dance and I know how important these beautiful things are to a person, how they make something special in a person, ”added Aditi.
According to the original story, an unfortunate incident puts Nusrat (Aditi) and Mira (Parineeti) on opposite ends of the spectrum, revealing the dark sides of both characters. Aditi praised the way director Ribhu played with the two female lead roles in the film.
“Every character Ribhu wrote is layered. I loved the way he played with the opposing worlds Mira and Nusrat. I think that really got me into it. I don’t know how I played it. I’m one of those trusting socialmediagossips who step on a set and surrender to the story. I like to work like that. “

Regarding the plot of The Girl on the Train, how often does Aditi imagine the backstories of strangers she sees around her? “I make a lot of socialmediagossips who watch their lives and imagine. I may be the only person who can get lost in London because I’ve been phased out and I’m starting to dream. I get off at the wrong station and get on the wrong train because I am in a dreamland. I do all kinds of really stupid things (laughs). “
The Girl on the Train starring Avinash Tiwary and Kiri Kulhari will be released on Netflix on February 26th.
