Ben Affleck has his next directorial work planned, and it’s a big one for Disney. Affleck was tapped to direct an adaptation of Keepers of the lost cities, the best-selling fantasy book series from author Shannon Messenger. This could turn out to be Affleck’s first attempt at running a blockbuster franchise. Should it succeed, Disney will have many resources to work with to develop it for years to come.
Disney is developing one, according to a new report Keepers of the lost cities Film, with Ben Affleck as director. The Chasing goodwill and Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice Star will also write the script alongside Kate Gritmon. Affleck will also produce the film through his production company Pearl Street.
Keepers of the lost cities was originally published in 2012 and has since spawned a series that currently consists of eight main entries and 2020 Unlockedthat was billed as Entry 8.5. The series also includes exile, Everblaze, Never seen, lodestar, nightfall, Flashback and heritage. More than 2.5 million books are currently in print. The series revolves around a young girl named Sophie who discovers she is a telepath. The summary for the first book is as follows.
