Last weekend, Bigg Boss 14’s challenger Kashmera Shah was kicked out of the show hosted by Salman Khan. The original first season candidate did not take her elimination lightly, which she describes as “unfair”.
In an exclusive chat with indianexpress.com, the actor explains that he is being abused by competitors Rubina Dilaik and Jasmin Bhasin, whom she now calls the bad girls.
Excerpts from the conversation …
How do you react to your eviction?
I’m really disappointed. It appeared to be premature ejaculation (laughs). I didn’t get time, although there was nothing more I could do. I’ve played strategies, fought, cried, done tasks – everything. I can’t meet men to be seen, it’s not in my DNA.
What do you think led to your exit after looking back?
I have no idea, I’ve done everything a good player can do. I let the opposing team lose for me, which never happens with Bigg Boss. I even outsmarted Vikas Gupta by planning behind the scenes, and that’s exactly what a real mastermind does. When they nominated me, I felt like they might not like my gameplay. While the audience is a deciding factor, I can’t even blame them as they never had enough time to know me. However, if a Jaan Kumar Sanu can last seven weeks, I wonder how I got off the show so quickly. It’s so unfair because I’ve played the hardest of all. I am also shocked that I was told I had fewer votes than Arshi Khan. All she did is abuse people and gamble cheaply. I don’t think the audience would like that too.
We saw how you tried to keep the challengers together rather than connecting with the contestants of the season. Do you think that affected your game?
The participants did not connect with us. Rubina Dilaik and Jasmin Bhasin were so tall and powerful. They looked at each other from the monastery and called us from the public school. That was so against us. That’s how they acted with us, and whenever they talked to us it was rude and downright mean. It felt really bad. Also, they have started treating everyone equally, even if one of them was wrong. They would keep referring to us as “those girls” which felt really bad.
You must have entered the show with certain opinions about roommates. Are they still the same or has your time with them changed that point of view?
Whatever I thought of the participants this season was absolutely correct. They only eat apples and peel potatoes in the house. My mind hasn’t changed about them. The only person who surprised me is Rakhi Sawant. Although we didn’t have a happy past, she stood up for me during a fight. She never spoke against me either, behind my back or for no reason. She’s a changed person from season one and I was very happy and impressed to see her that way.
How much has Bigg Boss changed since your season?
It changes every year. And rightly so, when the creative team and the participants change. Even the audience evolves every year.
Did you manage to connect with someone in your short time?
I loved Eijaz Khan, he’s the only real person in the house. I also enjoyed being with Rahul Vaidya as he was an honest person. Aly Goni was fun too. He went out of his way to protect Jasmine Bhasin and I shared my problems with him. I told him Rubina and Jasmine shouldn’t count me in the crowd. It was fun to see them being held up by Nikki Tamboli, who had been so mean to them just for being on the show longer. It was not a battle of right or wrong for them, but of old and new. They treated us like those cousins who came into the family to take over all of the property. They didn’t want either of us to be fine.
On leaving the show, you told Arshi to listen to Salman Khan. What made you do it
Because she’s inexplicably rude. In fact, I had an argument with her that day because she lied about me. I don’t appreciate her actions, but I really liked what Salman advised her. He mentioned how to gain a lot of respect from this house and that no show is worth the dignity. Salman will never tell you wrong, so I told her to listen to him.
You had also re-entered your season after you were evicted. However, this season most participants will get a second chance. How do you see this new format?
I still remember well that I was registered as a joker. I was kept in the secret room and I would keep doing fun things and poking other candidates. This season is new and different. Since it recently got an extension, it has got new and some old people. It would be fun to see.
Who do you think will win the show after watching the season and even playing the game?
I think it would be Vikas Gupta.
