Bobby Flay and Giada De Laurentiis eat through Itlay.
In the new four-part Discovery + series, Bobby and Giada in Itlay, the chefs and close friends embark on a month-long trip to Rome and Tuscany while taking inspiration from Itlay’s history and local cuisine.
During PEOPLE’s exclusive glimpse into the show, the celebrity chefs will be accompanied by Giada’s mother, actress Veronica De Laurentiis, to a delicious meal at Armando Al Pantheon in Rome.
Before that, the trio served the antipasti dishes: bruschetta, crostini with anchovies, flower and mozzarella cheese and coratella.
Flat says “the lamb is spicy” and adds that the zucchini might be my favorite.
The De Laurentiis women were also impressed. “I like the beans a lot,” said Giada, while her mother adds, “It’s not spicy and heavy. It’s very light. ‘
They later chew on the El Primo course, which has smaller servings of pasta dishes than Americans are used to.
“Here’s the variation you can find between America and Italy,” adds an impressed Flay. “When you make the noodles, you just shine the noodles with the sauce. In America there is just too much sauce. ‘
Apart from that, according to the source, Flay stated that he had come up with the idea for the new show and immediately asked Giada to part with it.
He said: “We’re friends, we both love Italy and we’re both on the same network so it made perfect sense.”
“So we did that. And I have to say, I think it’s probably the most beautiful things I’ve ever shot. ‘
Furthermore, he adds, he thought, we will see inherent happiness if the two of us are just there. When we go to a place we really like to be, all of our behavior is different. “We were just a lot more relaxed and smiling a lot and just enjoying our surroundings,” he said.
