Set 34 years after the first Karate kid Movie, Cobra Kai re-examines the narrative from Daniel’s point of view, Johnny Lawrence’s point of view. Johnny is now a struggling alcoholic and decides to reopen the Cobra Kai Karate Dojo, which leads to the revival of his old rivalry with Daniel LaRusso.
Season 3 begins with the characters struggling to cope with the aftermath of the high school brawl that concluded the show’s thrilling season two finale. With Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) in a coma, both Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) must reassess the extent of their own involvement in the events that got him there and try to find a better way forward for their students. The drama goes far and wide in Season 3, and Robby (Tanner Buchanan) is now incarcerated for an injury to Miguel. Meanwhile, Hawk (Jacob Bertrand) is tormented again by high school bully Kyler (Joe Seo), and John Kreese (Martin Kove) tightens his stranglehold on Cobra Kai and again teaches his students a very questionable moral code.
Daniel and Johnny will at least put some of their differences aside and band together to fight for their students. In a recent interview, actor Ralph Macchio drew an unexpected comparison between the belligerent duo of Cobra Kai and that of Friends Couple Ross and Rachel. “Therein lies our Ross and Rachel thing that I mentioned earlier,” Macchio explained. “Johnny and Daniel, we love to see them have a few beers and be personable, and then we love seeing them by the necks too. Another thing that works so well on the show is that the audience can see the other, but … the same elements of these guys. It’s frustrating at times because you just want to put them in the same room and pour a drink and just say, ‘Get over it.’ “
In the third season of Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni Decenzo, Vanessa Rubio, Peyton List and Martin Kove as well as Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, Daniel-San returns to Okinawa for one season Karate Kid Part II Reunion with the archenemy Chozen Toguchi and his love interest Kumiko, played again by Yuji Okumoto and Tamlyn Tomita.
“For season three, I can tease that while some of the stories are going to delve into the origins of Miyagi-Do Karate and Cobra Kai, although we have a lot of tidying up due to the events of season two.” Macchio revealed earlier this year. “Like the beginnings of these two forms of martial arts, and we’re going to learn things about both that we never knew. And that includes LaRusso going to Okinawa, which is a season three piece.”
Netflix will premiere now Cobra Kai Season 3 on January 1st, 2021 and offer the perfect view for New Years Day. Happy Holidays everyone! That comes to us from the official Twitter account of Cobra Kai.
