The upcoming film Zack Snyder’s Justice League will be a more than four hour affair. That’s a lot of time for a story. In addition to the seven key members of the Justice League, the film will also feature many villains, including Darkseid, Steppenwolf, Deathstroke, and Joker. During the IGN Fan Fest, Snyder pondered how the four bad guys would fit into the larger narrative, starting with the “complicated” relationship between Darkseid and Steppenwolf.
“Sure, the Steppenwolf Darkseid relationship is very complicated. I’m not going to reveal it, but there is a dynamic between the two. Some things have happened in the past. There are a number of problems between them and so yes I guess everything going well. So yeah, the answer is that there’s a pretty complex relationship there. “
In the comics, Darkseid is the god-king of the planet Apokolips. Although Steppenwolf is his uncle, he is subject to Darkseid and invades other planets at the behest of his ruler. It seems that a new twist is being added to this leader-follower dynamic Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
The next big bad guy is the master killer Deathstroke, played by Joe Manganiello, who at one point was supposed to be the standalone’s main villain Batman Film with Ben Affleck. According to Snyder, the new live-action version of Deathstroke is more of an aid than a hindrance to Batman due to the larger problem of the Darkseid invasion on Earth.
“Joe’s character in this movie, when we find him, he and Batman clearly hit a deal and they have a certain partnership. There’s a bigger enemy I think. I think that’s the big difference. It’s not you actually work together to find out how this world can work. “
After all, Jared Leto may return to the role of the clown Prince of Crime for the last time. Last year, Snyder had stated that he wanted to include Leto’s Joker in a prison scene in order to offer DCEU fans at least one cult scene between the Dark Knight and his greatest archenemy.
“The cool thing about the [prison] The scene is that it is Joker who is talking directly to Batman about Batman. It’s Joker who analyzes Batman who he is and what he is. This is what I’ve found as fans of the DC Universe too. That said, the Jared Leto Joker and the Ben Affleck Batman, they never really got together. It didn’t seem cool to me that we’d make it through this Batman and Joker incarnation without seeing them come together. “
Zack Snyder’s Justice League Stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent , Ray Porter as Darkseid, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and JK Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
