Actor Abhishek Bachchan announced on Monday that he would be next in Dinesh Vijan’s upcoming social comedy Dasvi. The actor would play the character of the character of Ganga Ram Chaudhary in the film, which also stars Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur.
Dasvi, written by Ritesh Shah, went to the floor on Monday. The director is debutante Tushar Jalota. Abhishek went to Instagram to share his look from the movie. Abhishek, wearing a muffler and bolt, stares straight into the camera as Ganga Ram Chaudhary to show a certain complacency.
The image also provides context to the title of the film, Dasvi, which means “10” in English. Abhishek is set against the background of a stamp sheet that consists of subjects such as math, science and English.
Just hours after Abhishek’s post, Yami Gautam shared her view from the film. The actor is seen as police officer Jyoti Jaiswal in Dasvi. The last one to give a little glimpse into her character was Nimrat Kaur, whose character in the movie is called Bimla Devi. The actor’s first look suggests that Bimla Devi is a politician as Nimrat shows the victory sign in the camera.
Interestingly, both Yami’s and Nimrat’s characters were captured against the backdrop of a trademark sheet, similar to Abhishek’s photo.
Dasvi is produced by Dinesh Vijans Maddock Films in association with Bake My Cake Films. The producer has previously endorsed social comedies such as Hindi Medium (2017) and its “spiritual sequel” Angrezi Medium from 2019, both of which play the late Irrfan Khan.
In addition to Dasvi, Abhishek Bachchan has the crime thriller Bob Biswas, a 2012 spin-off from Vidya Balan star Kahaani, and The Big Bull, directed by Kookie Gulati, in which the actor will play the infamous stockbroker Harshad Mehta. The Big Bull has already been announced for direct digital release and will premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar. While his Dasvi co-star Yami Gautam has Bhoot Police as one of her upcoming projects. Bhoot Police also play Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez.
