Hubble has released the colors of NGC 4535 in a new image. ESA published the image on Twitter with the caption: “This image from the NASA / ESA @ HUBBLE_space telescope shows the Barred spiral galaxy NGC 4535: The bright blue-ish spiral arms indicate a greater number of younger and warmer stars the yellow central bulge indicates that older, cooler stars live in this region.The galaxy is located in the constellation of Virgo and is approximately 50 million light-years from Earth.

When viewed from a smaller telescope, the galaxy NGC 4535 has a fleeting spectral appearance, which led amateur astronomer Leland S Copeland to refer to NGC 4535 as a “lost galaxy” in the 1950s.
According to Hubble websiteThe bright colors highlighted in the image inform astronomers about the population of stars in the Barred Spiral Galaxy. The bright blue colors between the spiral arms of NGC 4535 indicate younger and warmer stars. This is in contrast to the more yellow tones of the galaxy’s bulge, which indicate older, cooler stars.
The galaxy was studied as part of the PHANGS survey to clarify the relationships between cod accumulations, star formation, and the general shape and other properties of galaxies.
