Eleven years ago we spotted something on the screens The social network, a feature film by David Fincher that revisits the making of a particular Facebook. For several years now, many have wanted to set out their vision of starting a large company or a large economic fact. Apple will have its WeWork, Showtime will tell the story of Uber, and Netflix, for its part, will immerse us in the beginnings … of Spotify.
Spotify on Netflix?
Indeed, the American giant will offer a series dedicated to the creation of this streaming platform that is now the market leader, with a series in production that will therefore be broadcast on the platform in 2022. The series will of course come back to the founding of Spotify in 2006, a small Swedish company that will quickly become successful while competing against the giants of the music industry at the same time.
On the casting side, Vikings actor Edvin Endre takes on the role of CEO Daniel Ek, while Ulf Stenberg (Beartown) takes on the role of former CEO of Universal Music Sweden Per Sundin. We also find Gizem Erdogan (Love & Anarchy) as Petra Hansson, who made a significant contribution to the creation of Spotify’s freemium model. Joel Lützow (Gåsmamman) and Christian Hillborg (The Last Kingdom) will also be there.
A series directly inspired by the book Spotify Untold, written by Sven Carlsson and Jonas Leijonhufvud. The possibility of coming back to the conflict with a certain Apple, and in particular certain attempts at intimidation by Steve Jobs against Daniel Ek. It now remains wise to wait until 2022 to discover this new series “Spotify Untold” exclusively for Netflix.
