Hit after hit on Apple Music’s Verzuz series, Keyshia Cole and Ashanti went from one of the most anticipated battles to one of the most aggravating battles ever to take place. After rescheduling twice, the R&B legends were finally able to put on the show.
Ashanti took the heat for the first battle, which had to be postponed because she found out she had COVID just hours before her scheduled performance. There was another date the singers were supposed to attend, but that has been pushed back again for COVID reasons as the cases get bigger every day.

It’s safe to say that the anticipation has diminished quite a bit after the cancellation of the second time. Considering the Verzuz was postponed for a weekday evening, socialmediagossips felt that it ruined the mood as many have to get up early the next day.
However, it came Wednesday and both women announced the final date for the event. They were expected to be on the virtual stage 15 or even 30 minutes late, but both women showed up over an hour after 8 p.m.
Keyshia made the viewers even more angry because she was an hour and thirty minutes late. At this point, a handful of viewers left the live and did not watch the show.

When the event ended not long after 11pm, fans felt that the real winner was again culture and not a single opponent.
