We could see one war of stars Prequel trilogy reunion on Disney + as Liam Neeson is open to returning as Qui-Gon Jinn in the upcoming streamer Obi Wan Kenobi Series. After it was revealed that Ewan McGregor will be back to play the title character in the limited series, Hayden Christensen stepped into the project to re-play the role of Anakin Skywalker. There are currently no plans for Neeson on the series, but there are many war of stars Fans are still hoping for Qui-Gon Jinn’s return.
I spoke to Collider in an interview recently. Liam Neeson was apparently surprised to learn that fans were demanding Obi Wan Kenobi to bring Qui-Gon Jinn back as well. The actor was then asked directly if he would be ready to appear as a character in a flashback sequence on the Disney + series, and Neeson made it clear that he is very open with his response.
“Sure, I would be ready for this, yeah,” Neeson said with a smile on his face.
Nesson first appeared physically as Qui-Gon Jinn in 1999 Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. His voice was used in the 2002 sequel Attack of the clonesand he later repeated the role in three episodes of the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. In 2019, he made another voice as Qui-Gon Jinn alongside many other franchise stars in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It didn’t seem likely that we would ever see him in the role of a live action project again, but they did Obi Wan Kenobi Series opens up all kinds of possibilities.
Deborah Chow who ran part of The Mandalorian to great success on Disney +, will direct Obi Wan Kenobi Series. Chow will also serve as executive producer alongside McGregor, Kathleen Kennedy and Tracey Seaward. Joby Harold (Zack Snyders Army of the Dead) will write the series after the departure of the former writer Hossein Amini. In December, Disney announced on the company’s 2020 Investor Day that the show would take place ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith.
“I think the scripts are great,” said McGregor of the upcoming series last year birds of prey Premiere. “They’re in really good shape. They want you to get better. I think we’re going to keep the same flight date. It’s all good.”
And that’s only a small part of Disney’s overall plan to develop at least ten new Star Wars projects in the near future. Other titles in the works that have got fans excited include an Ahsoka Tano live action series, a Lando Calrissian series, and a Rogue Squadron Film by Wonder woman Helmer Patty Jenkins.
Neeson is next in his new film The shooterwhich will be released on January 15th. Directed by Robert Lorenz, the film stars Neeson as Jim Hanson, an Arizona border rancher who becomes the unlikely defender of a young Mexican boy who is desperate to flee the cartel assassins who have pursued him to the US It is a role that seems tailor-made Taken Star. This message comes to us from Collider.
