Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi-Star Master will be released on January 13th. However, two days before its release, scenes from the film were leaked online. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj took to Twitter Monday night to try to resolve the issue.
Kanagaraj asked for patience and tweeted, “Dear everyone, it has been a 1.5 year struggle to bring Master to you. We just hope you enjoy it in theaters. If you come across any leaked clips from the movie, please do not report them. 🙏🏻 Thank you everyone. Love you all. One more day and #Master is yours. “
The production house behind Master, XB Film Creators, also urged fans not to forward or redistribute any leaked content from Master.
XB Film Creators posted a post titled “Team #Master urges all of you not to forward / redistribute any leaked content. If you come across anything similar, please let us know at [email protected]”
Other members of the Film Brotherhood also used social media to express their solidarity with the makers of the Master.
“It’s hard work by hundreds of socialmediagossips… Please don’t encourage piracy…. Don’t worry, @Dir_Lokesh brother… #Master will also overcome this hurdle and be a blockbuster… (sic), ”said Karthik Subbaraj in his tweet.
Arun Vijay also urged his followers on Twitter not to distribute the clips and to appreciate the movie by watching it on the big screen. “The real essence of cinema is when hard work is valued on the right platform! I ask you all to refrain from unwanted images of the film #MASTER, which was made for the theater audience. Respect and celebrate to see it in theaters we’ve all been waiting for! (Sic) “, he wrote on his Twitter account.

The threat of film piracy is not new to the Tamil film industry. The timing of this leak is shocking, however, as Master’s commercial success is important to the entire Indian film industry.
Written and staged by Lokesh, the master aims to revive the film exhibition business in the country. The film will be released this week in five languages, including Hindi. While the master comes to the cinemas in the south on January 13th, he will open on January 14th in the theaters in the northern pockets.
