The Tamil action thriller Master with ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi will have its digital premiere on January 29th on Amazon Prime Video, the streaming service announced on Wednesday.
Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Xavier Britto, the film was released in theaters on January 13 during the Pongal Holidays.
The Master follows John Durairaj (Vijay), an alcohol professor who is taken to a juvenile detention center where he runs into a gang named Bhavani (Vijay Sethupathi) who uses the prison children for criminal activities.
Vijay said he was “glad” fans can enjoy the movie on Amazon Prime Video in India and around the world.
“I am sure that the interesting duel between John and Bhavani will take the audience on a rollercoaster ride full of action and drama,” the actor said in a statement.
Vijay Sethupathi said it was “extremely fulfilling” to have the film digitally released on Amazon Prime Video worldwide.
“With the film’s digital release worldwide on Amazon Prime Video, we hope to reach wider audiences that were at home and regions that would otherwise not have been possible,” he added.
