Microsoft unexpectedly released the Surface Pro 7+, an updated Surface Pro tablet with 11th generation Intel Tiger Lake processors, LTE options, and the removable SSD that Microsoft first introduced with the Surface Pro X.
Microsoft will take control of Surface Pro 7+, which is part of the Surface Pro for Business division, from Monday through its business partners. Prices start at € 900. The addition of the LTE Advanced option essentially offers a significant premium, with the option only available for the more powerful configurations that start at € 1,150. Neither price includes a signature keyboard and Surface Pen, which cost around $ 160 and $ 100, respectively. Matte black and platinum colors are available.
The name Surface Pro 7+ is apt as the Surface Pro 7 contained 10th generation Intel Ice Lake processors, but was otherwise just a dent compared to the specifications of its predecessor. With the Surface Pro 7+, Microsoft is not only updating the internals, but also adding the LTE option, which wasn’t always the case. (Unfortunately, 5G isn’t included yet.) The only obvious physical change is the SSD drawer.
Microsoft’s Surface Pro 7+ can hardly be distinguished physically from its predecessor, the Surface Pro 7.
Microsoft has positioned the Surface Pro 7+ design as at least a partial response to the pandemic that has forced many of its customers to work from home and adapt to potentially extraordinary working conditions. On the one hand, Microsoft has stated that customers have been forced to travel to their homes unexpectedly and work in strange configurations. Unexpected requests from Zoom / Teams calls, downloads, and other loads over a home wireless network have made moving the load wirelessly to a cellular network a convenient, if not a priority.
Internally, users have the choice of purchasing versions of the Surface Pro 7+ with a dual-core Core i3-1115G4 processor or two quad-core options: the Core i5-1135G7 and the Core i7-1165G7. One change nobody cares: Microsoft has removed the 4 GB RAM option and now offers 8 GB, 16 GB and a new 32 GB LPDDR4x storage option.

The Surface Pro 7 has an SSD drawer and the option of replacing the SSD inside.
Users are now used to “camera to camera is the new face to face,” added Robin Seller, corporate vice president of Microsoft Devices, in a blog post. The new focus on video conferencing has moved the high-resolution cameras built into the Surface Pro 7 and the new 7+ from luxury to essential. The 5-megapixel camera facing the user and an 8-megapixel rear camera both record 1080p video and a pair of far-field microphones to record your voice. It looks like the Surface Pro 7+ speakers have been updated to use Dolby Atmos audio technology, which was also used on the Apple iPad Pro and Amazon Fire HD 10.
Ironically, the new Tiger Lake processors theoretically offer the new Thunderbolt 4-port option. However, Microsoft, which pioneered the high-speed I / O dock with the Surface Dock and its successor, the Surface Dock 2, is still choosing to ‘use your own surface connector.

Microsoft has apparently still not changed its stance on the removable SSD the company built into the Surface Pro X and Surface Laptop 3. Next, we had representatives from the Microsoft Store – while Microsoft was still operating Microsoft Stores – we used the removable SSD to migrate data from one Surface Laptop 3 / Surface Pro X to another instead of giving end users the option of their storage options To update. Microsoft claims that the Surface Pro 7+ introduces a “removable SSD for data storage”.
