Some new details have been revealed for some recently announced war of stars Projects, namely Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic. The details were provided by Jon Favreau, executive producer and writer of The Mandalorianwhich has become an increasingly large part of the franchise. While much is still puzzling, Favreau has at least confirmed the rough schedule for the shows.
Jon Favreau recently appeared on Good morning America to discuss, among other things, The Mandalorian Season 2 finale. He also confirmed The book by Boba Fett Series and talked a little about the ever-growing war of stars Universe on Disney +. Without giving too much away, he had this to say Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic.
“I work with my partner Dave Filoni, who is that amazing production partner I met when I was playing a voice on The Clone Wars. We met at Skywalker Ranch. We worked on it together [The Mandalorian]. He does Ahsoka what he is currently writing. Then we also have Rangers of the New Republic. All of them take place in the similar timeline that is right after the Jedi return. “
Granted, that doesn’t give us much, but it is something. Both Ahsokawho have favourited Rosario Dawson will return as Ahsoka Tano, and Rangers of the New Republic, will take place shortly after the events of Return of the Jedi. The Mandalorian takes place approximately 5 years after the events of this film. This makes sense, as Lucasfilm said earlier Rangers of the New Republic “will overlap with future stories and culminate in a climatic story event.”
Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy first unveiled these and many other projects during the Disney Investor Day presentation. The idea seems to be for these shows to become a crossover event. Maybe no different from what the Netflix Marvel shows did the defenders. The details of the plot for both shows remain tightly under wraps for now. But with that Thrawn name you come by The Mandalorian Season 2 of Ahsoka, it’s likely safe to assume that the blue villain will show up. Perhaps, and this is pure speculation, Thrawn will be the main villain of this crossover event whenever this occurs.
The unsurprising confirmation that Dave Filoni writes this Ahsoka Show should comfort longtime fans. Filoni was the main creative behind it The Clone Wars alongside George Lucas, where the character made her debut. She is Filoni’s baby in many ways. Rangers of the New Republicnow has no confirmed signs. But Gina Carano’s Cara Dune seems like a sure thing. There is still no word about a possible premiere date for one of these shows. What we now know for sure is that The book by Boba Fett will arrive in December 2021. We will keep you updated as more details become available.
