Paul Bettany repeats the role of the almighty Android superhero Vision in WandaVision. Though Vision through Thanos died in Avengers: Infinity War in WandaVision, he looks very much alive with Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and lives through various decades in sitcom-like realities.
During the WandaVision virtual press conference, Bettany was asked about his character Vision and if anything was true about him on this weird, insane show.
For Paul Bettany, vision always had the qualities of someone else and is a kind of blank canvas that he fills as an actor.
He said, “When I was reading the script, I said, ‘Wow, this feels so different and how do I keep it the same?’ And then I realized that he always becomes someone else. He’s Jarvis, he’s part of Ultron, he’s part of Tony Stark, and he’s all powerful. He’s also such a naive genius. And then I realized that I was just one a little Dick Van Dyke and a little Hugh Laurie. “
Many believe that vision is actually dead and the vision we see in WandaVision actually jumped out of Wanda’s mind thanks to its reality-distorting powers. Since Wanda still struggles to come to terms with Vision’s death, she created this fantasy reality and filled it with real socialmediagossips who are unaware that they are not where they should be.
All of this is based on the comic book storylines that likely inspired the series.
However, that’s just an unconfirmed theory. We’ll know for sure when WandaVision premieres on January 15th on Disney Plus Hotstar Premium.
