Priyanka Chopra, Rajkummar Rao and Adarsh Gourav star The White Tiger have been trending worldwide on Netflix since its January 22nd release. An emotional Priyanka recently thanked her on her social media handles.
The actress said the reaction to the film made her heart happy. In one post, she mentioned, “End the opening weekend with a full heart. Priyanka Chopra plays an Indian, Pinky, in The White Tiger. Rajkummar Rao plays her legitimate husband, while newcomer Adarsh Gourav describes the role of Balram, who struggles to fight the system that desperately wants to keep him “in his place”.
The film opened to a mixed response. The Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta there were three stars when she complimented the central achievement. One section of her review read: “The film is owned by Adarsh Gourav, who channels this very specific, razor-sharp mix of submissiveness and anger to create an outstanding performance.”
The White Tiger was adapted from the book of the same name by Aravind Adiga under the direction of the renowned director Ramin Bahrani.
