Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphone users will now receive the MIUI 12 update. The update arrived almost in time for the two devices, as previously promised by the company. The new update includes the optimization of full-screen gestures and animations, e.g. B. the new navigation option to swipe down to open the control center in both upper corners of the screen. In addition, the update also fixes the incorrect notification shadow that was previously visible in dark mode.
According to the screenshots shared by users on Twitter, the build number is MIUI 12 V220.127.116.11.PEIMIXM. The size of the update is not yet clear as some say it is 697MB while others claim it is 2GB. It is recommended that users free up space to download the update.
The users who have not yet received the update can wait a few days to receive it. You need to make sure that the system automatic update is enabled to allow a notification asking the user if they want to update the phone or not. Other users can go to Settings followed by “About Phone” and then “System Update”.
The phones were launched in India in 2018. The Note 5 Pro started at a price of Rs 13,990 while the vanilla version started at Rs 9,999.
Earlier, Xiaomi confirmed that the company will not roll out the MIUI 12 update for Redmi 7, Redmi Y3, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6. These phones have been removed from the list due to “compatibility and performance issues”.
