Actors Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma are clearly captivated by Janhvi Kapoor’s when they dance together in Roohi’s first song entitled “Panghat”. But does that mean that men really enjoy partying with a ghost? “Panghat” is likely to be the next catchy tune and is a decently designed and composed track.
The creators of Roohi released “Panghat” on Monday after giving us a teaser over the weekend. In the song video we see Janhvi Rajkummar and Varuns calling out characters disguised as bridegrooms.
Parts of the song also show Janhvi shedding her bridal look and transforming into a witch-like figure reminiscent of Angelina Jolie from Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Cate Blanchett from Thor: Ragnarok or Sridevi from Puli. The Sachin Jigar composition has a dark, creepy setting and features a fusion of folk and techno beats.
While we’ve seen Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao show off their dancing skills earlier, this time it’s Varun Sharma who steals the show. His character seems confused but goes with the flow! Hope to see more of Varun on the dance floor.
Directed by Hardik Mehta, Rohhi Janhvi Kapoor plays a ghost who kidnaps brides on his honeymoon until Rajkummar and Varun come to the rescue. Roohi is the second film after Stree in the horror comedy universe from producer Dinesh Vijan.
Roohi, previously called Rooh Afza and later Roohi Afzana, was due to be released in June 2020. The film was postponed after the coronavirus triggered the lockdown.
Roohi will finally hit theaters on March 11th.
