The Malaysian filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews celebrated the 8th anniversary of his hit film Mumbai Police with an announcement on Monday. Rosshan announced that he will soon be reshaping the Mumbai police force. “8 years of ‘Mumbai Police’ !!! Share some great memories with all of you…. Aliyaaaaaa …… socialmediagossips are still talking about this movie! We’re going to remake this film very soon…. will give all the details … just wait … love you all! @therealprithvi @actor_jayasurya @rahman_actor (sic) “, wrote the filmmaker on his Instagram account.
However, Rosshan did not reveal which language he intends to remake the film in. Industry insiders indicate that he will lead the project in Tami. It also remains to be seen whether he will keep Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jayasurya and Rahman for the remake, as all three actors have already worked and made names in the Tamil film industry.
Tamil movie audiences also know Rosshan Andrrews, courtesy of 36 Vayadhinile, the remake of the Malayalam film How Old Are You. The film, about the existential struggle of a 36-year-old woman, marked the comeback of Jyotika after an eight-year hiatus.
The Mumbai Police Department is investigating a murder by an officer who has suffered partial memory loss following an accident. The film received wide acclaim and became a box office hit when it was released in 2013.
Meanwhile, Rosshan Andrrews is busy with his next project, Salute. It’s a cop thriller starring Dulquer Salmaan. The screenwriting duo Bobby-Sanjay wrote the film, in which Diana Penty, Manoj K. Jayan and Saniya Iyappan also star.
