According to new reports, Spider Man: Far from home Star Jake Gyllenhaal will appear in Stephen King’s latest remake Salem’s lot. King’s works have seen a boom recently, including the highly acclaimed ones IT, the revision of The stand, a newly announced restart of Christine and Lisey’s story currently streaming on AppleTV +. There have been more than 50 adaptations of King’s works, of which Salem’s lot has already seen a TV movie and a produced TV miniseries. With a few notable exceptions, such as The dark tower, King’s recent work on the silver screen has been not only productive but also profitable, and Salem’s lot should be another hit for the master of horror.
In 2019, New Line Cinema announced that it was working on the adaptation of the second novel by. to prepare Stephen Kingwhich was originally published in 1975. With James Wan set to produce with Gary Dauberman, who will also be writing and directing, it seems like they’re on to a winner before a single scene is shot. Reports that Gyllenhaal had been approached to star Ben Mears appeared on Illuminderi.com today claiming that an official offer had been made to him Brokeback Mountain Actor who starred in the roles of David Soul in the 1979 film and Rob Lowe in the 2004 miniseries.
While all other casting messages are still sparse, it is believed that the James Bond The franchise’s newest Blofeld, Christopher Waltz, leads the race to play the villainous Straker, a mysterious character who arrives in the small town of Jerusalem’s Lot with a dark cargo in tow. With his most recent portrayal of Bond’s archenemy, Waltz is certainly able to handle the kind of brooding threat required for the role and would be an ideal candidate to replace James Mason, who first appeared in the role. However, it is not yet known whether Waltz has been approached by the studio.
Salem’s lot Filming is currently expected to begin sometime in the fall, and while a release date has not yet been set, the final film is not expected to arrive until late 2022 at the earliest. It remains to be seen whether Jake Gyllenhaal Characters on the line, but the idea of what he might bring to the new version is an exciting prospect for fans of the actor and the novel. With impressive credentials for his name, we would have a compelling feat before us that would surely surpass his predecessor in the role of Mears. In addition to his serious roles in Brokeback Mountain and Jarhead, he’s recently moved into the more fantastic with his too Spider-Man: Far from home Appear as Mysterio, and of course, in most cases we cannot forget or explain his groundbreaking role Donnie Darko.
There is still a long way to go, it will probably be a while before we see production details, additional casts, or a taste of what the film will actually look like. King fans like me will be excited about it when filming begins as planned in September.
