Director Anu Menon and the production house Abundantia Entertainment will come together for a crime thriller after the Vidya Balan star Shakuntala Devi, the makers said on Monday.
According to a press release, the film is in the final stages of the script. Main photography is slated to begin April through May 2021
Menon said she had a great time with Abundantia Entertainment at Shakuntala Devi and was happy to pick up the banner for her new film.
“Her passion for telling compelling stories and her commitment to a director’s vision are seldom found. We have a completely different story this time and I hope that we get the same love from the audience as we did when we first worked together, ”said the director in a statement.
Vikram Malhotra, founder and CEO of Abundantia Entertainment, said Menon has a unique style of storytelling that syncs with the company’s vision.
“… Her stories are underpinned by strong female characters who fit well with Abundantia’s vision of telling effective stories. I am confident that Anu and Abundantia will once again delight the audience together, ”added Malhotra.
Abundantia Entertainment is also working with Balan on a separate film, Sherni.
The production house recently announced its collaboration with Crypt TV for its first joint film, Chhori, with Nushrat Bharucha. The project is the Hindi remake of the successful Marathi horror film Lapachhapi.
