While the servers are now back up, some Signal users on Android may still see a “Poorly Encrypted Message Sign” in chats, preventing them from seeing what messages they have received. In the meantime, iOS users may see the “Received message was out of sync” error. So here’s how to solve that by resetting your secure session.
Step 1: Enter the chat concerned
Open Signal and navigate to the chat that shows the “Invalid Encrypted Message” sign. On Android, click the three-dot menu in the top right corner and select “Reset Safe Session”. On iOS devices, tap the “Reset Session” button directly under the “Received message was out of sync” error.
Step 2: reset the secure session of the chat
In the dialog box below, please continue with the reset so that a new secure session can be formed and the error corrected. Signal has assured its users that the bug will not compromise the security of the chat and will be fixed in the next update.
If you see “Invalid Encrypted Message” on Android, tap the menu in the top right corner, then tap “Reset Secure Session”. On iOS, tap the “Reset Session” button under “Received message was out of sync”. The errors do not affect chat security and will be fixed automatically with the next app update. pic.twitter.com/dgLGLZS3zB

Note that the “Bad Encrypted Message” error that you see is actually a security feature designed to keep your messages safe and secure from any third party during events such as the recent server crash. “The bugs do not affect chat security and will be fixed automatically with the next update,” announced Signal on Twitter.
