Surprise! We get one Indiana Jones Video game. The surprise announcement was made by the Bethesda game studio, known for its work on the Fail Series who worked with the newly announced Lucasfilm Games for the project. At the moment the details are easy, but we have a short teaser trailer to get fans excited about the upcoming game.
A new Indiana Jones game with an original story is currently being developed out of our studio. @MachineGamesand is produced by Todd Howard in collaboration with @ LucasfilmGames. It will be some time before we have more to reveal, but we’re very excited to share today’s news!

Bethesda made the announcement on Twitter by posting a 30-second teaser. No title. No title card. The content was enough to give away for free. We see some books, an old typewriter, and other items that were sent to Dr. Jones from Harrison Ford. But when we get to the whip and the iconic theme of music cuts in, there’s no question about what we’re seeing. Fortunately, the studio posted a follow-up tweet to confirm the news. The statement is as follows.
“A new Indiana Jones game with an original story is in development by our MachineGames studio and is being produced by Todd Howard in association with Lucasfilm Games as executive producer. It will be some time before we have more to reveal, but we ‘ I am very excited to share today’s news! “
Todd Howard is the creative director of Bethesda Game Studios and will oversee the new video game as executive producer. Although the details are easy for now, we know this will be an original story. It won’t retell the story of Hunter of the lost treasure, for example. This will be something completely new for the fans. Pete Hines, SVP for global marketing at Bethesda, had this to say.
“Todd is a lifelong Indy fan and has been trying to make this game for over a decade. He is thrilled to be working with the award-winning MachineGames team that is a perfect fit for Indy.”
The surprise reveal comes a day after Disney announced the creation of Lucasfilm Games. Lucasfilm who controls both war of stars and Indiana Jones Franchise now has a dedicated video game studio where all future game projects will take place. The announcement relied heavily on the idea that this would be used war of stars. In order to Indiana Jones comes as an even bigger surprise. But not an undesirable one. There are enough of war of stars Video games, but surprisingly few that follow the adventurer who cracks the whip. Aside from the LEGO games, Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings was the last game the character was released in more than a decade ago.
It remains unclear whether Harrison Ford will repeat his role for the game or whether another actor will fill those big shoes. Meanwhile, Ford is preparing to return to the big screen as Indy Indiana jones 5 still on the way. Steven Spielberg, for the first time in franchise history, won’t be with James Mangold (Logan) take the helm. We will keep you updated as more details become available.
