In a new interview Jason Reitman shared what it was like to screen Ghostbusters: Afterlife with his father. Ivan Reitman introduced the franchise back in 1984, and no one could have predicted that it would still be as massive as it was almost 40 years later. “My father didn’t leave the house much because of COVID,” Reitman says. “But he did a test, put a mask on, and drove to the Sony property to watch the film with the studio. After that, he cried and said, ‘I’m so proud to be your father. And it was one of the great moments of my life. “
It sounds like Ivan Reitman is a fan of Ghostbusters: Afterlifewhich hopefully means longtime fans will also be interested. The new image from the sequel is included Strange things star Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace and Logan Kim while hanging out at Ecto-1. It’s unclear what’s going on in the photo, but Grace and Wolfhard both look like they saw a ghost. With the summer release date approaching, the entire advertising campaign will soon be launched and more images and footage will be shown.
When tackling Ghostbusters: AfterlifeJason Reitman knew he wanted to keep the comedic tone of the original films. But he also wanted to make sure it was scary like the original film. Lots of socialmediagossips take it for granted how scary elements of Ghostbusters were when it first debuted in theaters. Reitman had this to say about the horror element of the original film.
“The feeling I have held on is that while it is very funny, it really scared me. It was really my first experience in a horror film. I was at a Directors Guild meeting and happened to be sitting next to Steven Spielberg – when I told him I was working on it Ghost huntersOut of nowhere he said: “Library Ghost – the ten greatest horrors of all time.” And it’s true. “
The Library Ghost is one of the scariest scenes in Ghost huntersbut it was set up with comedy anyway. It sounds like Jason Reitman was trying to keep that comedic lead while introducing some real horror elements for a new generation of fans. We just have to wait and see how it will look on the big screen. You can check out the new picture from Ghostbusters: Afterlife above, thanks to rich.
