It seems that the government has finally understood that traditional media are no longer enough to inform the entire French population.
On Friday, McFly and Carlito posted a video on their YouTube channel outside of their usual Sunday morning slot. That is exactly what we can already say that this is an important announcement. The title of this video: “The PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC challenges us. Here. Crazy? Yes.” We better understand the meaning of this announcement.
While you probably already know, the President of the Republic has given the duo a challenge to get a message across through barrier gestures. Emmanuel Macron asked McFly and Carlito to post a video about the importance of barrier gestures. When the latter reaches 10 million views, the duo will be invited to the Élysée to film one “Anecdotes competition” with the president.
Gabriel Attal moderates the monthly Twitch show
After that, both positive and negative reviews soon began to rain. Nevertheless, the government is implementing its new communication strategy to such an extent that Gabriel Attal, government spokesman, has just announced the opening of a Twitch channel.
#ConfidentialLCI 6:50 am & 7:50 am @LCI @ GabrielAttal On Wednesday, the Élysée starts a monthly program with young people (6 people in total according to health recommendations) on Twitch and YouTube for 1 hour / 1:30.
The program is titled #WithoutFilter

After France Television and TF1, it is the government’s turn to enter Amazon’s platform. Starting this Wednesday, Gabriel Attal will organize “Without Filter”, a program that the Council of Ministers discusses every fourth Wednesday. In accordance with health regulations, Gabriel Attal can accommodate up to 6 people on the set, including for sure some influencers who are getting to know the government spokesman well.
I can already hear the negative criticism of this initiative, but for my part I believe that this communication strategy has the merit of being taken into account by our government. And who knows, the fallout could be positive going forward.
