The teaser of Parineeti Chopra star The Girl on the Train is out. The first pictures in the teaser show Parineeti in London, panicking looking out the window of a train. We then see them in a disheveled state.
This appears to be an intense role for Parineeti, who last appeared in Jabariya Jodi in 2019. The Girl on the Train is based on the 2015 novel of the same name by Paula Hawkins. The novel was previously converted into a Hollywood film with Emily Blunt.
The girl on the train follows an alcoholic woman who watches a couple every day while they ride the train and idolizes them until she becomes involved in the case of a missing person and her secrets are revealed.
Parineeti Chopra had previously said in a statement: “Emily Blunt’s appearance on The Girl on the Train blew my mind and it is a privilege for me to play the character she wrote so brilliantly on screen. The restraint and reach she showed as an actress when she played a worried girl and fought herself in the film showed what a fantastic actress she is. When an actor remakes a beloved movie, there are expectations that match, if not better, the original. So I know that the audience will watch our film and make comparisons with the original and compare my portrayal of the protagonist with Emily’s. “
Ribhu Dasgupta also stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Kirti Kulhari, Avinash Tiwary and Tota Roy Choudhury.
The Girl on the Train will be released on Netflix on February 26th.
