The Karnataka State Anti-Tobacco Cell and Health Bureau objected to images of Yash lighting and smoking a cigarette in KGF Chapter 2’s recently published teaser.
Officials from the Karnataka State Anti-Tobacco Cell said the images in which the actor smokes a cigarette violates Section 5 of the cigarettes and other tobacco products (prohibition of advertising and regulation of trade and commerce, production, supply and distribution) of 2003 violated decided to delete the teaser from the online platforms.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka Health Department has also asked actor Yash, who plays the lead role in KGF 2, to remove the problematic scenes from the teaser and film. The teaser shows a scene in which Yash blows up a line of jeeps with a machine gun and lights a cigarette with the barrel of a glowing pistol.
The Minister of Health and Medical Education of Karnataka, Dr. K Sudhakar said, “Movie star Yash is into social work and I admire him. The health department called him about his upcoming film. However, this is not an indication. I heard there was a smoking scene in the film and the department asked him to remove that scene. There are a lot of young socialmediagossips in his fan club, and that goes for all films. “
A letter against the visuals in KGF Chapter 2 Teaser has been sent to the film’s director, Prashant Neel, actor Yash, and producer Vijay Kiragandur. According to the notice, the warning “Smoking is harmful to your health” must be displayed on the screen. However, the teaser does not contain a warning.
