Signal, the messaging app that is constantly gaining new users, appears to be down. Many users cannot send messages to their contacts.
“Signal has technical difficulties. We are working hard to get the services back as soon as possible, ”said a red banner above the app when Indian Express tried to send some messages. It remains to be seen how long it will take Signal to fix the problem. We will update this article as soon as the services resume in the app.
The signal has technical difficulties. We are working hard to get service back asap.

Signal, a privacy-focused instant messaging app, quickly gained popularity recently when thousands of WhatsApp users migrated to the app. Signal’s focus on privacy and encryption continues to draw many users to the platform, making it the most downloaded free app in many regions of the world including India.
Signal’s sudden growth in its user base at a time when WhatsApp is facing flak because of its recently implemented privacy policy is likely what caused the servers to go down. Many instant messaging apps, including WhatsApp, have occasionally been exposed to similar cases. While some users are not happy with the server failure, others have taken the app’s server overload as a positive sign that more users are using Signal. Check out the tweets below

If you’re wondering why the signal is dropping out, it might have something to do with the fact that installs have increased from 10 million to 50 million since Jan 12th https://t.co/7PCwnp1uel

I am so happy to see that the signal is getting a lot of new users. These problems are temporary. However, your privacy should be forever. Use the signal, tell your friends too. https://t.co/RhyIMsX2Kk

Signal and Telegram continue to be two of the most popular instant messaging apps in use right now. The signal contains data protection-related functions such as the forwarding of voice calls, end-to-end encryption, screenshot protection and much more. The app recently announced it would be hiring more employees after the sudden surge in user numbers.
