It is Christmas Day and a feel-good film is mandatory on this festive day. Treat yourself to a good laugh with this wonderful comedy directed by Dany Boon. Tonight at 8:50 p.m. on RTL TVI.
Philippe Abrams is Director of the Post Office in Salon-de-Provence. He is married to Julie, whose depressed character makes his life impossible. To please him, Philippe cheats to get a transfer on the Côte d’Azur. But he has been exposed: He is being transferred to Bergues, a small town in the north.
For the Abrams, southerners full of prejudices, the north is horror, an icy region that is populated by rustic beings and an incomprehensible language, the “Cheutimi”. Philippe will go alone. To his surprise, he discovers a charming place, a warm team, welcomes people and makes friends: Antoine, the postman and the village men, with a possessive mother and angry loved ones. When Philippe returns to Salon, Julie refuses to believe that he likes the north. She even thinks he’s lying to her in order to spare her. To satisfy her and make his life easier, Philippe makes her believe that he is actually living through hell in Bergues. From then on, his life sank into a convenient lie …
What should I say if not it’s sheer luck? Dany Boon in front of and behind the camera is successful without any mistakes, supported by a Kad Merad in excellent form.
