Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan took a step back in time when she posted photos from the New York premiere of her 2007 release Guru. The film, with Abhishek Bachchan in the title role, was completed on Tuesday 14 years after its release.
Aishwarya posted photos of herself, husband Abhishek Bachchan and filmmaker Mani Ratnam from the red carpet at Guru’s premiere in New York, and wrote, “On that day … 14 years … 🌟💝GURU FOREVER … ❤️✨.”
On Tuesday, Amitabh Bachchan retweeted a fan video showing Guru’s best scenes. Senior Bachchan praised his son’s performance, writing, “Yes, indeed … a fantastic film, and Abhishek was great.”
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai were nominated for Guru in the Filmfare Best Actor and Best Actress categories. The film showed Abhishek in the role of an aspiring businessman who doesn’t work for white men and wants to make it big in the textile business. Aishwarya played his devoted wife Sujata, who stands by him when the world turns its back on him. The film also starred R Madhavan, Vidya Balan and Mithun Chakraborty in key roles. Guru is considered to be one of the best Abhishek and Aishwarya films.
On the labor front, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will next appear in Mani Ratnam’s film Ponniyin Selvan.
